Storm Eunice - Friday 18 February

Published 22:32 on 16 Feb 2022

STOP PRESS: Kyle Harper has posted a video of the compound taken approx 10:30 today (Friday) to the Club's Facebook page.

Storm Eunice is expected on Friday. The Met Office have upgraded their warning for this area from Yellow to Amber; it may yet go to Red. At the time of writing, wind speeds of up to 42kn (F9) to 64kn (F12) are forecast for Hill Head on Friday with the peak at midday.

Members who have a boat in the compound, you might like to inspect it before Friday. They should check that their boat is securely lashed down with rope of suitable strength and condition and, if possible, a weight at the bow. They should also ensure that their boat cover is in good condition and that it is secured properly.

A small group of members intend to visit the compound on Thursday afternoon at 4pm to check boats and Club property. Many hands make light work; all are welcome.

The third party insurance that is compulsory for all boats in the compound should provide cover in the event that the insured boat causes damage to Club property or another boat. However, to get compensation for damage to the insured boat, comprehensive insurance is required. The owner should also ensure that they comply with any policy "conditions".
