Club Fusion - "Nicky"

In May, Seafarers Sailing Club was loaned a Fusion dinghy. Over the next few weeks, many Club members sailed the Fusion and provided lots of positive feedback.
In June the Club received a very generous donation from the Wadham family. This was in recognition of, and as a memorial to, the life of Nicky Dunk (nee Wadham). Nicky, with twin sister Kay, had continued sailing and serving as the Club's Rear Commodore right up until she lost her fight with cancer in March.
The Committee, including Kay and brother Tim, all felt that the purchase of a Club boat to help encourage more people to learn and enjoy sailing would be an appropriate use of the donation. The Fusion was available for a very good price. It was a versatile boat that was relatively fast, great fun, straightforward to handle and easy to maintain. It was agreed that this would be the new Club boat.
The new Club boat has been named "Nicky". In the above photographs, the Fusion, which is in great demand, is being used to support our RYA 'Start Racing' course.
