Racing

The Club holds races every Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning from April to October with a nominated duty crew in charge. Weekend races continue into November but are run by volunteers. When nights are longer, there are also races on Thursday evenings. Dates and times for all races are published in the the Racing Programme.

All races at Seafarers are conducted in accordance with the Racing Rules as amended or modified by the Club's Sailing Instructions.

As mentioned above, most races are run by a nominated duty crew. A crew comprises a Race Officer, Assistant Race Officer, Driver and Crew for the Patrol Boat, a Tractor Driver, plus two or three other members assisting on the beach. Each Club member will be allocated five mandatory duties per year. The schedule of duties is published at the beginning of the season. The duty crew for each race is available to logged in members on the event page for each race and from the Duty roster.

All races are scored using the PY system and the results are available for members who are logged in.
