RYA Training Courses - 24 May to 2 June

The Club is running two sail training courses for members as listed below from Friday 24 May to Sunday 2 June. This coincides with the school half term.
- RYA Level 1 & 2 (Start Sailing & Basic Skills): This course is aimed at adults aged 18 to 68 with little or no sailing experience. However, if you have experience but have not sailed for many years and would like a refresher, this course will suit you.
- RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 1 & 2: As indicated by "Youth", this course is aimed at a younger clientele, from 8 years of age. For cadets less than 11 years of age, a responsible adult is to be on the premises at all times. The Level 1 & 2 course might be more appropriate than the YSS course for cadets aged 16 or older. Stage 1 introduces cadets to sailing and the experience of being in a small dinghy. Stage 2 introduces the basic sailing skills, rope work, and sailing safely.
There is a fee to cover RYA certification and log books as follows:
- Level 1 & 2 course - £86 including the beginner's handbook, £80 without handbook.
- YSS 1 & 2 course - £46 including beginner's handbook, £40 without handbook.
Both courses will run on Friday evening, all day Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, then each evening from Tuesday to Friday evening, then all day Saturday and Sunday. For timings, look at the RYA Training Programme (Here).
