Coaching Session - 30 March 2024

The next coaching session will be on Saturday 30 March at 14:00 on the water. Please don't be late as the rib is also required for the RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course in the afternoon.

Please note that these are not Laser Coaching sessions for elite sailors. The ideas is to enchance all Members skills.

Many Club members, particularly recent trainees and those who have not sailed for some time, avoid helming in Club races and cruises because they feel too inexperienced or too "rusty". The Coaching sessions - new this season - are intended to help improve dinghy sailing skills and, thereby, raise confidence levels. Hopefully, this will lead to more enjoyment and higher levels of participation in Club events.

The first coaching/training session was a great success with 7 boats on the water, one of which was a Club boat. The weather conditions were quite challenging.
Adrian Tucker and Marcus Chapman, who both recently joined the club were very happy with the session, in particular Adrian who hasn't been sailing for many years.
Paul Tiller was at the helm of a single handed dinghy for the first time and coped well with the conditions.
