Frostbite 7 16 November 2024 and Frostbite 8 and Gosport Half Marathon 17 November

Frostbite 7 - Saturday 16 November at 14:30
The Frostbite Series continues on Saturday 16 November and Sunday 17 November. There are NO duty crews allocated for the Frostbite Series races 5 to 10, so we need VOLUNTEERS.
Ad Hoc races are a "self-help" activity; those who make use of it will, naturally, want to help run it occasionally. Volunteers are required to act as coordinators, patrol boat crew and tractor drivers for each race.

The Gosport Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday 17 November between 10:00 and 13:00. Seafarers Frostbite 8 Race starts at 11:00 on the same day. The Half Marathon route will include Salterns Car Park and the seafront. it will also cross the slipway in front of the Club. Would members please be aware that the Half Marathon is taking place and interact harmoniously so that Gosport race and Frostbite 8 can run smoothly along side each other.
Members should be aware when moving their boats to the beach that there may well be runners crossing the Slipway in front of the Club. Gosport Runners will have marshalls between Salterns Car Park and the Slipway.
In previous years we have 'informally' marshalled the slipway. Any volunteers to help with that would be most welcome.
Road Closures Will be phased as follows:
Browndown Road - Closed to through traffic 08.30 14.00, but closing later at Privett Road end for car-parking.
Salterns Road 10. 00 12.45
Privett Road From Grange Road roundabout to Browndown Road the road will be closed to westbound traffic (Eastbound remains open) 09.50 12.30
Salterns Car Park remains OPEN but it will be marshalled so there may be some stop/go situations.
Members might like to get to the club in good time to avoid these closures/possible delays.
