Club Financial Update - Question and Answer Session - 16 April

The Treasurer, Peter Smith, has kindly agreed to hold a meeting to provide an update on the club finances and answer any questions that members may have. Questions on any aspect of the club finances including income, expenditure, bank accounts and topics covered at the AGM last autumn are welcome. The Treasurer will aim to answer all questions provided in advance (to treasurer@seafarers-sailing-club.org.uk) and, if time permits, he will endeavour to answer any other questions on the night.
As we will be just over half-way through this current financial year, this will also be an excellent opportunity to show current income and expenditure. Club fees were increased by 5% this year to ensure our annual general income and expenditure accounts remained balanced. We continue to have very healthy savings accounts that cover capital expenditure and building updates. At the AGM, the membership approved the stopping of the 15% of membership and boat space fees being transferred to the 'ring fence' fund. This meeting will explain why this was proposed and what that decision means.
