Overnight Cruise to Corf Camp - 14 to 16 August

Published 08:14 on 11 Jul 2026

2026 Overnight Cruise

Our planned overnight cruise for this year occurs from Friday 14th August through to Sunday the 16th. We will be visiting the Corf Scout Camp in Newtown Creek. We will have the use of the van, Joe Kennedy again kindly agreeing to do the driving.

This is a unique opportunity to experience one of the most beautiful locations on the island. Seafarers SC is privileged to be one of very few organisations permitted to use this campsite. When the tide is in, it is an ideal location to try out, or hone, your skills with a stand up paddle board or a pump up kayak. It is a short country walk to the New Inn in Shalfleet. There is a more adventurous walk to Yarmouth. This destination has proved to be a big hit with Seafarers in the past.

We each pay an amount in advance to cover camping, the van ferry ticket, van fuel and driver insurance. The advance price will also cover a significant contribution to the collective food kitty. This will provide cooked breakfasts, BBQ on Saturday, packed lunch for the return journey as well as soft drinks, tea & coffee. The Friday night meal is traditionally collected from the fish and chip shop in Yarmouth (pay on the day).

Booking

Booking is now available on WebCollect (here). Cost is £45 per person. The payments will be held, by the club, until Wednesday 12 August when a decision whether to go ahead will be made. Do not book the event until you have a place in a dinghy or are travelling independently.

Meeting Tonight

There will be a meeting regarding this year's overnight Cruise in the Club bar at 20:15 on Tuesday the 28 July.
