Bart's Bash - Race Raises Money for Charity

Published 16:30 on 14 Sep 2020

On Saturday 12th September, sixteen boats carrying twenty-four members started the 2020 Seafarers Bart's Bash Race. The conditions were demanding; six boats retired. Full results are available from the 2020 Bart's Bash results page. Photographs of the race and the subsequent socially-distanced Happy Hour can be found in the Gallery.

Bart's Bash is the flagship annual event of the Andrew Simpson Foundation (ASF). It is a sailing race taking place at 100s of venues, with 1000s of sailors in 100s of different classes of boat around the world. It is an opportunity to remember Andrew Bart Simpson, a double Olympic medallist who tragically lost his life in 2013.

Donations, including a race entry fee, raised a total of £72. This has been sent to the ASF on behalf of Seafarers Sailing Club.
