Mike - Our Barista Extraordinaire (Retired)

On the 30th July Trudy, Heather, Robert and Joe took over the Coffee Mornings from our long serving Barista Mike. Mike has been serving up great Coffee Mornings for almost 12 years, helping both old and new members spend some quality time together over a cup of coffee and rather sumptuous biscuits. He's one of the many unsung heroes in our great Sailing Club. Mike arranged Zoom Coffee Mornings during lockdown and these were especially welcomed, helping to keep members in touch during uncertain times. I doubt Mike realises just how much his coffee mornings have been appreciated, often by older members no longer able to sail but wanting to keep in touch with their friends. The newbies decided to celebrate his 12 years as Barista Extraordinaire with a special cake and commemorative mug along with a party atmosphere (and lots more cake) created by the many friends who attended. It was a great morning (plus quite a bit of afternoon!) and showed Mike just how much his efforts have been appreciated.
