*** SOUTHERN WATER UPDATE *** - 19 September

The burst site remains fully contained, with excavation and repair work getting underway today. Southern Water inspection at Hill Head last night found no visible signs of sewage.

Following an impact assessment of the situation, the Environment Agency has now lifted the advice against bathing at Hill Head that was issued yesterday evening.

They will continue to monitor the situation as the repair progresses.
