Community Lottery

Background

A Community Lottery has been set up in Fareham to raise much-needed funds for charities and community groups especially after a difficult year due to the pandemic. The lottery is being operated by "One Community" on behalf of Fareham Borough Council (FBC). "One Community" is an independent charity providing voluntary sector support and community development in Eastleigh and Fareham. It also provides care services, information and community transport in the borough of Eastleigh and beyond.

FBC previously ran a lottery in the 1970s which lasted for a few years. Recently, community lotteries have become popular again and are already running successfully in neighbouring authorities.

Tickets will cost £1 and cash prizes of up to £25,000 will be given to those entering the weekly draw. Those entering will be able to nominate one of the registered organisations as their primary recipient. Organisations that register with Fareham Community Lottery will receive 40% of the value of the tickets purchased where they have been nominated as the primary recipient. Seafarers is a registered organisation and the Lottery has a dedicated page for the Club - here.

Playing the Lottery

The first draw will be on Saturday 13 March. Tickets for the lottery cost just £1. When you buy a ticket, you are invited to nominate the "good cause" that is your primary recipient. That organisation will receive 40p. To nominate your good cause and buy a ticket, click here.

Each ticket has a 1 in 50 chance to win a prize. Each ticket has six numbers and each number is between 0 and 9. There will be a draw every Saturday night when a six digit winning combination will be picked. Prizes will be given to players with tickets that match the first or last 2 to 6 numbers from the winning combination. Match all six and you win the jackpot! A full list of prizes is given below:
