Tuesday Talk - British Divers Marine Life Rescue - 15 September

This should be a fascinating talk about our local marine life from Martin Gillett - the Area Co-ordinator for Hampshire and also Dorset

Maybe it will include information about our local seal! ------ The above photo shows the rescue of a sick dolphin.

BDMLR are a charity with over 2,000 trained volunteers across the UK acting as a frontline response service for marine mammals that may be in need of help, and reported to them via a 24-hour helpline.

The talk will provide insight into the species of marine mammals typically seen around the UK coastline along with a number of call out stories from local incidents including a dolphin stranded at Hayling Island, a seal rescue from the Isle of Wight and Thor the Calshot Walrus!

The bar will be open from 19.00 with the talk starting at 19.30 prompt.

A collection will be taken at the end for donations to the speaker's charity - the British Divers Marine Life Rescue - so please bring some cash if you can.
