UPDATE

After a two year absence, the annual SLOSHH Race was held off Seafarers Sailing Club.

There was a 20-22 knot South Westerly with typical Solent chop. 24 boats came to the start and the Race Officer, Phil Warwick, managed to keep the fleet in check and started at 2pm.

Conditions were fairly lively, but the majority completed the lap five times one RS400 managed six. The turnout from Lee-on-the-Solent Sailing Club was fourteen boats, from Seafarers nine boats and from Hill Head one boat.

After sailing the hosts Seafarers provided a tea and the SLOSHH Trophy was awarded to Lee-on-Solent Sailing Club, with Seafarers second and Hill Head third.

Full results can be found (here)

This annual race between Seafarers, Hill Head and Lee on the Solent sailing clubs provides an opportunity to compete with our fellow sailors from nearby clubs and to race against different boats. At the last meeting, in July 2019, Seafarers won the SLOSHH trophy.

All are welcome. It doesn't matter if you have never raced before; the main reason to take part is to have fun. The scoring system rewards greater participation. This means the more of you that take part, the better our chance of retaining the trophy.

This year we are the hosts and the race is scheduled to start at 14:00.The Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions are available (here and here). Note that competitors must be signed in before 13:00.
