2025 ILCA Open Event
Seafarers Sailing Club (SSC) is delighted to invite ILCA/Laser helms to participate in our 2025 Open meeting. We are excited to welcome sailors from near and far to join us for a day of exhilarating competition and camaraderie. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or new to the ILCA/Laser class, we encourage you to enter and experience the thrill of racing on our picturesque waters.
Our ILCA meeting in 2023 was SSC's first Open event for more than a decade. We were so delighted by the turnout and the very positive feedback, that we scheduled another ILCA meeting the following year which proved equally popular. The results and albums of photographs from our 2023 and 2024 meetings can be accessed from links at the foot of this page.
SSC's 2025 ILCA/Laser Open Event will take place on Saturday 12 July.
Entry is via WebCollect; to BOOK click HERE. Competitors who do not already have an SSC WebCollect account will be required to sign up for one.
When booking, competitors declare their intended rig (Standard/ILCA 7, Radial/ILCA 6, or 4.7/ILCA 4). They may change their rig up to late entry closing. After this approval of the Race Committee is required. To notify/request a change of rig, competitors should contact SSC Vice Commodore (email below).
Standard Entry Closing is at 16:00 on 1 July. Late Entry Closing is at 16:00 on 10 July. The entry fee for the event is £15. The late entry fee is £20.
Upon entering, competitors who are not already members of SSC agree to become temporary members of the Club for the duration of the event.
Competitors are to be familiar with the Notice of Race (here) and the Sailing Instructions which will be available by 4 July.
The schedule for the day will be as follows:
- 0845-1000 Registration and Tally in clubhouse; coffee and tea available.
- 0930 Safety and Race Briefing at entrance to clubhouse.
- 1055 First Warning Signal - the sequence for the 3 classes to be determined on the day at the discretion of the Race Committee.
- Race 2 then Race 3 will follow as soon as practicable after the previous race.
- Approx 1600 Prize giving with a light tea available in the clubhouse for competitors.
