Susie Moore, pictured above, is the RYA's Regional Development Officer for the south region and has been doing an excellent job supporting clubs in these very challenging times. She works hard to encourage participation in sailing, promote best practice in volunteer management, and maintain and improve safety and training standards. She works with clubs to identify and introduce new activities, advising on funding and facility improvements while also building and promoting local community partnerships. With most members now familiar with Zoom technology, members are to be offered a few winter talks. Susie has kindly agreed to be our first guest speaker. Not only is this a new initiative for us, but also a first for the regional development team. They have done a huge amount of communicating but directly interacting with members in this format will be new. It is hoped that this this will prove a successful run out for both the RYA and Seafarers.

The format will be a Zoom webinar. The first 20 minutes or so will be a 'conversation' with the Commodore asking Susie a few questions. It will then open to questions from the audience via 'the Q&A or chat' facility. Hopefully cameras can be enabled to bring in the member for Susie to answer/discuss. The intention is to make this as interactive as possible.

This exciting event will replace the virtual Prize Giving originally scheduled for 16 December. This will now take place on Tuesday 15 December for the prize winners and then be shared with members as a recording shortly afterwards. Prize winners will be contacted during the week commencing 7 December.
