Tuesday Talk - Tall Ships Youth Trust
Sue Geary has been a Skipper for the Tall Ships Youth Trust for several years, leading voyages in one of their 72ft Challenger boats.
Based at Gunwharf, the Tall Ships Youth Trust is the oldest and largest youth development sailing charity. Their voyages are primarily for young people to support the Trust's aim to enable young people to change their lives at sea, and particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Bursaries are offered where appropriate. In addition, other trips also provide opportunities for adults to enjoy the experience of big boat sailing.
Sue is both a Skipper and also Youth Development & Outdoor Learning Lead (Offshore) for the Trust.
She'll be able to tell us about the youth programme and progression, and also talk about plans for two youth-sailed Challenger boats going on the Fastnet Race at the end of July. This will be Sue's seventh time of going to the Fastnet Rock..
Sign up on WebCollect to give an indication of the number attending ------------ or just turn up on the night.
Friends and family also welcome. The talk is free. Cadets may also find this interesting.
Bar open from 19.00 and the talk starts promptly at 19.30.
There will be a collection at the end of the evening in aid of the Tall Ships Youth Trust charity - so please bring some cash if you can, many thanks.
