Bart's Bash

12th September 2020, 14:30 - 16:00

Background

Bart's Bash is the flagship annual event of the Andrew Simpson Foundation (ASF). It is a sailing race taking place at 100s of venues, with 1000s of sailors in 100s of different classes of boat around the world. It is an opportunity to remember Andrew Bart Simpson, a double Olympic medallist who tragically lost his life in 2013. Founded in 2014, the event was verified by Guinness World Records as 'The Largest Sailing Race in the World'. This year Bart's Bash takes place on 12th-13th September and is open to all sailing clubs, yacht clubs, scout groups, sea cadets, windsurfing clubs, individuals and any venue globally where it is possible to host a race, subject to local advice relating to COVID-19.

Seafarers SC will run its Bart's Bash race on Saturday 12th September - start time 2:30pm, HW at 7:43pm. It will be a combined fleet, average lap race.

Members who intend to take part in this club race are not required to register with the Bart's Bash website. Donations will be collected on the day; this will include a £2 per boat race entry fee. All monies collected will be sent to the ASF on behalf of Seafarers Sailing Club.
