Commodores Challenge this year will be run as a 'Fun Sail' based on the 'Fun Run' concept.
The aim is to encourage as many members as possible to complete the course that is appropriate to them between 14:00 and 16:30 on Saturday 23 July. If more than 34 boats, or more than 49 members, complete the course, we will almost undoubtedly have set a new Club record.
Adult participants will be invited to sail a 10 km course. Cadets will be offered a 2 km course. Provisionally, the course will consist of a 2 km lap predominantly of reaches. The precise shape and length of each lap will depend on conditions on the day.
All participants, including the Duty Crew, will be awarded a medal for participation. The Coven will also be awarded medals for their volunteer work.
As a family or group of friends, you could earn your medals by sailing together or by sailing separately .. whichever is the most fun for you.
A delicious cold buffet with hot new potatoes and a selection of salads plus a tasty dessert will be available from 18:00. Book this via WebCollect.
