Enjoy a Family Fun Day !! Get the school holidays off to a great start !!
The Commodore's Challenge this year is rapidly approaching and was originally planned to be a cruise to Warsash. However, as you will be well aware this year has been somewhat dynamic for a number of reasons, not least Covid. On reflection and to ensure the opportunity for maximum participation, the Commodore has decided to change the day to a Families Regatta. Hopefully, with the Covid restrictions easing on 19 July, we can hold something of a party. The need for a degree of caution still exists and the activities will be largely outside to help mitigate any risk. The overall challenge is simple have fun!
A very family orientated day that simply aims to bring us all together for some fun. There will be a series of light hearted competitions in the morning, including relay type races starting from the beach starts, perhaps a slalom race, throw balls in the life raft whilst sailing a simple course, kids games, a prize for best dressed boat and another for best dressed competitor and more. This will run from 1000-1300. You may then enjoy a picnic. The bar will open and there will be a happy hour with reduced price drinks. Although a barbecue had been planned, in response to the weather forecast and the low level of bookings, it has been decided not to light the BBQ on this occasion. The whole aim is to have fun, meet up with friends and do some sailing if you wish. There is no pressure and the only real requirement is to enjoy yourself.
